The bright colors and upbeat Latin music make for a festive atmosphere at the first food venture of the Bortz Entertainment Group (Dragon Room, Biology Bar, Hogs & Honeys). A visit with a large group allowed for a wide sampling of dishes, although tapas portions are smaller than you might expect and dont allow for much plate passing. Seafood dishes shone - grilled octopus was char-grilled to a perfect crunch, and the ahi tuna ceviche got raves from everyone at my table. Standards like garlic potato salad and baked goat cheese in tomato sauce were nothing to swoon over but were executed competently. The mushroom paella main course was glistening with saffron, and the oven-roasted chicken was succulent in a white wine sauce. Sangria, of course, is a specialty, and selections include white peach, mango, and raspberry, along with the usual red, white, and cava. Service started out OK but grew elusive as the night went on and the restaurant filled up. Our last hour was spent trying to locate our server so we could pay the bill.
