Consistent, high-value noodle house.

Our Review

One of the first noodle houses in town back in the early 90s, Penny's continues to bustle even though the menu isn't so unusual anymore -- mostly ramen and udon soups plus staples like chicken curry and lard nar. The food may be bland to some tastes, but it's consistent and plentiful, and most of it can be ordered vegetarian. There's another, larger outpost at 950 W. Diversey with a separate pickup area to minimize congestion, a third location at 1542 N. Damen, and a fourth in Oak Park at 1130 Chicago.
