This no-budget regional production aims for the whimsical tone of a Wes Anderson comedy with its quirky characters and mannered dialogue, yet the crass, amateurish results feel closer in spirit to Kevin Smith's Clerks. A 29-year-old loser moves back to the titular Wisconsin town to live with his alcoholic mother, whom he hates, and her new husband, an infantile slacker who is the same age as the son but insists on being called "dad." The not-quite story involves the two men's misadventures with a delusional stoner (played by writer-director Andy Gillies) who wants to go into business selling T-shirts. Gillies never gives us any reason to care about these people, though some of the one-liners are amusing.
