My Pitchfork itinerary: Tal Rosenberg

The Reader digital content editor melts for Psychic Paramount and Danny Brown

Don't miss our critics' reviews of all the bands playing Saturday.

1 PM: In past years, the opening slot on Saturday has been worth missing. Not this time: I'll be getting my mind blown by the heat and the instrumental wizardry of Psychic Paramount.

2 PM: How to choose between two Deerhunter side projects? Split the difference. By the time Lotus Plaza wrap up their set, Bradford Cox's Atlas Sound will just be starting to melt down.

3:15 PM: Cults, overlapping slightly with Youth Lagoon. Translation: beer and shade away from the music.

4:15 PM: I've seen Flying Lotus and Nicolas Jaar before, and as someone who loves them both, I think FlyLo is just much better live.

5:15 PM: A riot-grrl supergroup or a tattooed G-funk rapper? Decisions, decisions! (I guess Wild Flag.)

6:15 PM: I'll try to catch a little bit of Sleigh Bells' migraine-inducing music because people have told me they're great live.

6:45 PM: I'll trust Britt Julious's recommendation about Chromatics.

7:30 PM: The toughest decision on Saturday: Hot Chip is a fun, dweeby New Order update, but Danny Brown is Danny Brown.

8:30 PM: That guy in the shroud watching Godspeed You! Black Emperor from the side of the stage? That will be me.

Next: Kevin Warwick on Wild Flag and Sleigh Bells.
