One of the queasier Rock Hudson-Doris Day comedies, this 1961 feature has Rock as an advertising executive who keeps his clients happy with booze and broads. Doris is his prim rival who decides to go after his new account, unaware that the product doesn't really exist. A gold mine for students of 60s cultural attitudes—why is it that movies from this period look much more dated than the films of the 30s and 40s?—but not much of a picture. Delbert Mann directed; with Tony Randall, Edie Adams, Jack Oakie, Jack Kruschen, and Joe Flynn. 107 min.
