Kenny (Shane Jacobson), a foreman for a port-a-potty business in Melbourne, is a working-class philosopher with a heart of gold and a PhD in shit. This hilarious and affectionate mockumentary (2006) follows him on his rounds as he tries to keep his toilets and his life from overflowing, though the latter seems like the bigger challenge given his abrasive ex-wife, alienated young son, demanding elderly father, and crew of troublesome workers. There's plenty of shop talk about bodily functions, but this is no gross-out comedy; its hero is a modest man who takes pride in his work, and his Twain-like folk wisdom had me roaring. Jacobson cowrote the script with his brother, Clayton, who directed. PG-13, 99 min.

Sorry there are no showtimes for Kenny on Saturday, November 7.
