Directed by Oliver Ralfe, this documentary follows the British comedy ensemble the Mighty Boosh on its 99-date tour of Great Britain from September 2008 to January 2009. Those hoping for a concert movie along the lines of
Monty Python at the Hollywood Bowl (1982) will be disappointed: there are a few snippets of the stage show, but these are dwarfed by verite footage of the comedians killing time backstage, dissecting jokes in the van as they drive from gig to gig, and enjoying the sort of adulation from teenage fans that's typically reserved for pop stars. Even their casual riffing can be priceless, but for the most part this will leave the uninitiated wondering what it's all about.
