Steaks and more for people who don't want to live in the suburbs but want to eat like they do.

Our Review

This American steak-and-more spot proves that chain restaurants (this is the third area outlet for the Nashville-based chain, including one in Northbrook and one in Oak Brook) don't have to be tacky. The room is polished, with dark-wood trim, glossy red walls, and a street-level lounge full of comfortable leather chairs. Its location, in the Clybourn corridor, is a natural for the predictable all-American menu, which caters to young couples and families who don't want to live in the suburbs but want to eat like they do. Specialties include an aged prime rib, filet mignon, a 14-ounce New York strip, and barbecued baby back ribs. There's also Texas-style chili, sides like smashed potatoes and a one-pound baked potato, grilled chicken salad, and a bunch of sandwiches and burgers. It's simple, the portions are huge, and the prices are mostly under $15 -- just the formula for an unchallenging midweek meal.
