This is the eighth restaurant in Scott Harris's wildly popular Francesca group, and the swank decor makes it a bit upscale for the neighborhood. Handsome stained oak is used for blinds, an unusual ceiling pattern, and a divider between a row of booths and the exposed kitchen. The spacious bar area in the front has a few cocktail tables and booths; the dining room is bathed in natural light from two walls of windows. All the elements of the Francesca formula are in play, from the black-and-white photos of Italy to the short menu of salads, pizzas, pastas, and meat entrees. Delicately prepared red trout was a special one day, a generous serving topped with sauteed green peppers, spinach, calamari, and tomatoes in a rich seafood sauce. The crowd is laid-back -- mostly middle-aged couples and neighborhood families.
