So essentially the entire reader poll is a ruse for the Reader editors to promote their own favorites. The poll winners receive little more than a mention while these nonsense categories of your own choosing receive all the coverage. Why bother voting?

This list is good - many of the best-kept secrets have remained secrets. You guys can keep your best-of-the-best while I keep my most-delicious-of-the-most delicious. Thus, no crazy lines from the jump-on-the-wagon types (can you say, Kuma's Corner???).
