Demi Moore and Michael Caine costar in this novel but slow-moving mystery thriller from the UK. She's an American expatriate in early 60s London, hitting the glass ceiling at a British diamond company, and he's an elderly building janitor who convinces her to take part in a heist of the company safe. Their employer is selling blood diamonds from South Africa, and Moore's steely performance as a woman thwarted in her professional ambitions adds another sharp edge to this intrigue. But screenwriter Edward Anderson drops the South African angle in favor of more conventional developments and has a hard time bringing this across the finish line without a number of implausibilities.
