Though this drama is adapted from Geeta Anand's nonfiction book The Cure, it's also the first theatrical release from CBS Films, and it sometimes feels like one of those "disease of the week" TV movies from the 1970s. Brendan Fraser stars as John Crowley, who left a secure corporate job in 2000 to start a biotech company that would treat Pompe Disease, the rare neuromuscular disorder that afflicted two of his children; Harrison Ford is a curmudgeonly research scientist (a composite of several real-life figures) who's pulled from his ivory tower into the shark-infested waters of Big Pharma. Tom Vaughan (Starter for 10, What Happens in Vegas) directed. PG, 106 min.
