Released in 1972, this is a genuinely funny “biography” of Bobby “Evel” Knievel—America's self-styled last gladiator, who jumps impossible obstacles on his motorcycle and promises a fantastic do-or-die finale to his career by jumping the Grand Canyon. George Hamilton's performance as the amiable megalomaniac (“Elvis, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne—we have a responsibility”) is an affectionate portrait of a truly crazy man, rounded out with casual, throwaway humor. Marvin J. Chomsky directed a script by Alan Caillou and John Milius; with Sue Lyon and Bert Freed. 90 min.
Sorry there are no upcoming showtimes for Evel Knievel
