Few local playwrights can bake a quirkier batch of characters than Beau O'Reilly, and he sets oh so many of them swirling around Henry Moore, the aging protagonist of his new play—including a psychotic cop, a Buddhist runner who speaks in mangled Rumi quotes, and a barista with a grating taste for Britishisms. But Moore himself (a delightfully stolid H.B. Ward) is singularly unmotivated as he lounges, depressed, in his pj's. Even the Dude was out to get his carpet back. O'Reilly's memorable characters swarm from scene to scene like bumper cars powered by personality alone. As a result, this Curious Theatre Branch entertainment falls short of what it might've been with a little more structure. —Keith Griffith
