It would be hard to find a more inspirational story than that of Emmanuel Ofusu Yeboah of Ghana. Born without a tibia in his right leg, he might have been reduced to begging—a fate shared by nearly two million other Ghanaians, a tenth of the country's population. Instead, on a bicycle donated by the U.S.-based Challenged Athletes Foundation, he made headlines by cycling across Ghana, which led to an invitation to the States and, ultimately, a prosthesis. Samson Chan's color-saturated visuals add punch to the absorbing narrative, but overall this documentary plays like slickly packaged TV fare, right down to the plugs for Nike. Emmy-winning sisters Lisa Lax and Nancy Stern—both network sports veterans—coproduced and codirected; Oprah Winfrey narrates. G, 80 min.
