One of Buster Keaton's last independent features, this 1927 tale of a brainy but inept young man who pursues his girl to college (though he must work as a soda jerk to pay the fees) is less conceptually rich than Keaton's other features but alive with some of his most athletic gags. Buster on the playing field, failing gloriously at every sport but executing each one beautifully when he dashes to his girl's rescue, is a study in precision and grace. 65 min.
