To protest the destruction of the great forest of the Canadian Shield by a logging company, an Ojibwa Indian who is also a “trickster spirit that has taken human form” (Graham Greene) kidnaps both a city lawyer (Ron Lea) trying to protect Indian land and a paper-mill manager (Michael Hogan) and takes them on a grueling journey through the wilderness. Adapted by Rob Forsyth from a novel by M.T. Kelly called A Dream Like Mine, this picture was directed by Richard Bugajski, a Polish emigre best known for his 1982 film Interrogation. With Rebecca Jenkins and Floyd Red Crow Westerman.
