Who says print is dead? Taking place over two days in three locations, Chicago Zine Fest provides a chance for independent publishers to showcase their work and for writers and artists to swap ideas. Highlights follow; a full schedule is at chicagozinefest.org.

Zine Fest kicks off with a discussion about writing, health, and disability with Kerri Radley, Maranda Elizabeth, and Dave Roche (Fri 3/8, 1 PM, Conaway Center, Columbia College, 1104 S. Wabash). It's followed by a Youth Reading (6 PM) and an Exhibitor Reading (7 PM) at 826 CHI (1331 N. Milwaukee) and, at Quimby's (1854 W. North), a game show called Zine, Lose, or Draw!, hosted by Chicago Alternative Comics Expo organizer Neil Brideau (9:30 PM).

Saturday's centerpiece is the Zine Exhibition, where in addition to tables by more than 200 zinesters (11 AM-6 PM, Conaway Center) there'll be workshops and panels. These last range from the prosaic—how to tour your zine (noon), how to anthologize it (4:30 PM)—to the big picture, with foci like "diversity and inclusion in the arts" (1 PM).
