Enola explores the psyche of a town and its inhabitants as they become complicit in the deployment of the atom bomb, by building the plane that drops it. Come to the side project before the show to enjoy an all-American dinner featuring mini hot dogs and burgers, potato salad, lemonade and iced tea! Then stay for the provocative Enola, followed by a post-show dialogue with members of the cast and director. Each one of us has a finger on the button. 8-year old Enola, daughter of the man who designed the plane that dropped the world's first atomic bomb, explores the scientific and personal morality of those actions in this highly theatrical fictionalized account.

You are invited to a Preposterous Rhinoceros Wine & Swirlz Soiree, the soon-to-be most talked about Organic Theater Company after-party. First, settle in for the highly-acclaimed Organic performance of Rhinoceros. Then, join the cast for scintillating conversation, wine, and delectable Chicago Swirlz cupcakes. "I am alone and they are all together." Rhinoceroses are loose in the streets. Berenger does not care. While the citizenry fails to make heads (horns) or tails out of an increasingly chaotic situation, our hero begins to realize that everybody around him is gradually changing into pachyderms. Considered by many to be Ionesco’s finest play, Rhinoceros tracks one man’s lonely efforts to hang onto his humanity, while everyone around him abandons theirs."

Metro - 3730 N. Clark Street
The Scooty & JoJo Show returns to Metro on June 1, 2012, with the epic benefit concert Space Invasion. Expanding the very best of last year's Alien-meets-Queen-meets-Battlestar Fantastica spectacles with Chicago's newest rock choir and an inter-species dance party, Space Invasion is a full-tilt celebration of sci-fi cinema and space rock. After five record-setting appearances at Metro last year, the incredible band and performers assembled for Scooty & JoJo's Alien-inspired tribute to Queen are back to headline this awesome event. Exploding the huge harmonies of the iconic anthem rock is the debut of Chicago's new 35-member choir under the direction of Jonny Stax and Nicholas Davio. Acclaimed performer Ryan Lanning returns to channel Sigourney Weaver's steely glare and Freddie Mercury's soaring vocals while Scooty's massive alien queen drops her abundance of eggs over the rapturous crowd.

The day after soon-to-be valedictorian Henry Burke (Matt Bush) takes a hit of the chronic for the first time, his school principal (Michael Chiklis) institutes a zero tolerance drug policy and administers a mandatory drug test for all students. Henry has two options: fail and lose his college scholarship, or team up with his stoner friend Breaux (Sean Marquette) to beat the system. They steal a high powered ganja from law student- turned-drug-dealer Psycho Ed (Adrien Brody) and spike the school’s bake sale brownies, getting the whole school—faculty included—completely stoned out of their minds. But with the student body getting higher and higher with every brownie, and a pissed-off Psycho Ed on their tails for stealing his stash, they must find a way to keep their half-baked plan from going up in smoke.

Founded in 1993, The Chicago Underground Film Festival (CUFF) is a year-round organization dedicated to the work of film and video makers with defiantly independent visions. Unlike many other “independent” film events our goal is not to imitate old guard, market-driven events such as Sundance but Instead to focus on the artistc, aesthetic and fun side of independent filmmaking. CUFF promotes works that dissent radically in form, content and technique from both the tired conventions of Hollywood and the increasingly stagnant IndieWood mainstream.Visit CUFF online for a full list of films and show times.
