Chicago loves jazz almost as much as Chicago loves Chicago. The Chi-Town Jazz Festival—founded by John Moulder, a jazz guitarist who happens to be a Catholic priest—is as much about music as it is about civic love: its proceeds are donated to Chicago-area hunger relief. The six-day fest kicks off with a show that features the Aaron Koppel Quartet, IndigoSun, and others. Also jazz-related: jazz night is back at the recently remodeled and reopened Green Dolphin Street—now just Dolphin (2220 N. Ashland)—every Tuesday night. Jazzy and free.
