This 1963 film by Mario Bava, Italian master of exquisitely chilling atmosphere, is actually three short films linked by Boris Karloff's narration (and appearance in the second episode as a vampire who gains control over an entire family). Bava's Italianate Grand Guignol works well here and lifts this film more than a cut above the average. 99 min.
