Alhambra Palace's daunting scale—28,000 square feet seating up to 1,400—and Oriental-Institute-meets-Vegas decor makes it tough for the menu to rival the "wow" factor. But that hasn't kept a succession of chefs from giving it a shot. In addition to hummus, baba ghanoush, dolmas, and other standard appetizers, there's couscous, said to be a house specialty. Belly dancers perform on weekends, and Tuesdays are salsa nights.
