What is RSS?

RSS is an easy way to review updates from your favorite Web sites without visiting each one. With an RSS reader, you subscribe to a feed and scan the headlines. When you find something that interests you, click on the link to read the complete article.

How do I get RSS feeds?

First, get an RSS reader. Then follow your RSS reader's instructions for adding a feed to your list. There are many RSS readers available, some of which are free. There are Web-based readers as well as those that you download and install on your computer. Examples of free RSS readers:

  • Web - Bloglines
  • Windows - FeedReader
  • Mac - NetNewsWire

Many modern browsers also have RSS capabilities built in. The latest versions of Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer all have this feature.
