      <![CDATA[Now that that they are officially free, I'll let you in on a little "secret" I was afraid to reveal to any Reader staffer before.
    
    Archived articles of the Reader (Hot Type columns, at any rate) have been free for at least the last several years.  But there's a catch.
    
    I made sure to save the URLs for a couple of my fave Hot Type columns before they disappeared off the 6-week archive.  I've never had a problem accessing the columns with those URLs.
    
    But now I don't have to feel guilty about it.  :-)
