Ald. Reilly's problem, as far as Richie is concerned, is that Reilly's not rolling over for developers. Richie, of course, needs any new revenue stream (e.g., increased assessments on newly-developed property) he can get, since hired trucks, the Duffs, etc., don't come cheap. Municipal corruption is costing us a great deal, folks, and it's almost exclusively Richie's fault at this point.

As an aside, I note that very nearly everyone who posts comments in defense of Richie makes the same punctuation and grammar errors, especially with respect to the misuse of commas. Doubtless a coincidence, but still ...

When I ran for alderman in the 46th Ward, very little was asked by the media and numerous organizations about TIFs, and when endorsements were made, one's stance on TIFs appeared to have no bearing, which I find amazing given their effect on taxes.

TIFs continue to be non-transparent and the press continues to make little connection between campaign contributions and developers benefiting from TIFs. When they do, perhaps the public will have more of an incentive to wake up and be informed voters.

This 11th man guy is too rich to pass up.

So, Democracy is a fairy tale?

So, the city and county governments are meant to be Authoritarian (Dictatorships)?

So, Chicago and Crook County are the same as the 'former' Yugoslavia? In every way?

So, the citizens of this city, and county, are savage miscreants, bent on maiming and murdering each other, but for the benevolent dictatorship of the Crook County Democratic Party's rule?

So, the 'FEDS' are an active part of supporting this benevolent dictatorship, disguising itself as the Democratic Party of Crook County, for the purpose of preventing the wholesale slaughtering, of the citizens residing within the boundaries of said county, by each other, said citizens being primitive tribes, forming themselves per racial, ethnic and class divisions, all such divisions not being encouraged and exploited by the very same Democratic Party of Crook County?

So, the Crook County Democratic Party is the 'glue' holding together, by the barest thread, civilization, as we know it, and, but for this glue, all hell would surely break loose here.

So, the price we savages must accept being paid, to ensure our peaceful co-existence, is, quite naturally, graft, corruption, and "an occassional lapse of civil libereties"?

So, what brand of diaper do you recommend that Daley wear, when he shits his pants while reading your comment?

"If we vote out people every 2 and 4 years ,how could build things like highways, deep tunnel projects and Ohara expansion."

Now that's really 'rich', 11th fool, giving examples of corrupted deals and presenting them as evidence of the taxpayers hard earned dollars being well spent.

And you even included the lie about the HAVE NO DOUBT, VOTE INCUMBENTS OUT voting strategy being one to be endlessly, and thoughtlessly applied, when, those who understand the concept, and have actually read and understood what I've posted, know that it's purpose is meant to be a means of ousting those the voters have determined are UNWORTHY of being reelected, thus opening our elections to all citizens seeking to serve, not just the few determined to serve themselves and their cronies.

"The public good will never be served."

What a cynical and apathetic fellow you must be, to presume to accept corruption in all of your fellow citizen's names. So, we, the rest of the citizens, should just take your word for this and resign ourselves to our 'public good' never being served? At least you're being honest about your vision of the world you live in.

"Nothling is perfect we may have a little graft, but the job still gets done."

A 'little graft'? What you talkin' 'bout??

Try, if you will, reading what you refer to as 'garbage' one more time.

And, yes, I know you don't want to, but do it anyway, just like we, the taxpayers don't want to put up with the graft and corruption being imposed upon us, (by the very dishonest incumbents the HAVE NO DOUBT, VOTE INCUMBENTS OUT strategy is intended to oust), but you believe we should put up with it anyway.

I just love the way that the Aristocracy's supporters present themselves as the only alternative to anarchy and massive disaster.

As if the sky will fall, should the aristocrats and their minions no longer be able to lord their wills over the rest of us commoners.

Thanks for reminding us of your true opinions, and that we have, every 2 and 4 years, the opportunities to show you our true opinions, by using our Right to Vote to HAVE NO DOUBT and VOTE INCUMBENTS OUT.

You are truly a princely fellow for being so forthcoming.

As HAVE NO DOUBT, VOTE INCUMBENTS OUT has always included the option of each individual voter choosing to not deny reelection to whichever incumbent they so choose, the blanket nature your refer to doesn't exist.

Your history of comments, however, has proven to be a dirty blanket, consistently supportive of the corruption your are an enthusiastic participant in.
