<![CDATA[Baby Stroger put the last nail in the coffin of Chicago real estate when the city started charging 4% of every sale/purchase to fund CTA pensions. When I begged my alderman not to vote for this, she said the scenario of traffic snarls aldermen were presented with were too frightening. This is one example of the morons who are representing (not) us and voting with Daley on everything that will destroy this great city. There's no way we should get the Olympics! This is the most corrupt city in N. America! Are you listening, Feds?

<![CDATA[Okay, back on topic. The mayor has a dream and he will stop at nothing to attain it. He can't seem to make the buses run without a shortfall. He can't give the police or the fire dept contracts, crying 'no money'(what, for fourteen months now?). He can't control his kid and keep him from stealing public funds. (He's graduated from battering other kids with baseball bats, at least.) He can't keep a lid on his budget in any way, shape or form. Now, he's going to drop another twelve - or maybe twenty - million for property, to sell it to some connected developer, who may or MAY NOT construct Olympic housing on it, or who might just sell it to the highest bidder, instead??

Basta! Enough! Put this wasted Olympic dream money into education, CTA, infrastructure and basic services for the city's residents and let THAT be your legacy, Mr. Mayor, NOT the Olympics that'll drain this city dry for years after the event.

<![CDATA[2nd city cop,

Frank Main is just as bad as Fran Spielman, they water down news for Mayor Daley. The bull-shit US Attorney should investigate both HRB and Police Board. But he is to busy working for Anita Alvarez in attacking Tony Peraica. They are nothing but political tools for Organized crime Boss Richie Daley.

Look at the Human Resource board of Chicago. Reverend Lucius Hall( $millions in grant money from Daley), Enrico Mirebelli(donates to ther mayor)- Rich Bradley , ex-State rep.) gets a job at the HRB. Roger Balla doesn't know any law and is the Mayors head hunter. he screwed James McTique , blamed him for the City flood only to have a higher court overturn Balla's decision.Balla let ghost pay-roller John Whirity back to work.

Any Policeman or City worker with NO clout should just go directly to a real courtroom. Poice Board/HRB are just tools for Mayor Daley, you know, I know , but US Attorney Fitzgerald pretends nothings wrong. I'm still waiting for his call on MSS and Patrick Daley, Hiring Scandal,Rainblockers....I know! I'll be waiting a long time.

<![CDATA[Article from:

Reversing History?

Sunday Sun Times - Why is It So Hard to Fire a Policeman?

Monday Sun Times - Some Chicago Cops Hired Despite Arrests, Rejections

Who knows what Tuesday will bring?

And why isn't Frank Main pointing out the obvious? We spotted it right away:

* [Sunday's article] A Sun-Times review of recent decisions by the Police Board -- a nine-member civilian review panel appointed by Mayor Daley

* [Monday's article] ...the department tried to block the hiring of officers with gang associations or minor crimes like petty theft or drug possession in their backgrounds -- only to be overruled by the Human Resources Board. [...]

The Human Resources Board, made up of three members appointed by Mayor Daley, acknowledged there is no legal reason for it to hear appeals from police applicants.

Gee, it's kind of obvious where the problem lies isn't it?

Remember what Summerdale did to the Department and the Chicago Machine?

Daley the elder was forced to appoint a civilian and cut the Police Department from the fortunes of the Machine.

As Mike Royko pointed out, it was a political decision.

In order to preserve the Democratic ticket, old man Daley cut loose the entire patronage army of the CPD.

Now, Shortshanks is breaking the Department to his will, abetted by J-Fed, political promotions (the likes of which hasn't been seen in decades) and a host of micromanaging "tools" (GPS, DNA, Performance Recognition Systems, mayoral appointed "oversight") to demoralize the rank and file.

And instead of "traffic stop" money filtering it's way upward through the Captain's bagman, it's parking tickets, seatbelt missions, TMAs, meter-maids, Streets and San supervisors and red-light cameras feeding the Machine's never ending thirst for cash."

A few comments from the above quoted article:

"The appeal process was originated due to a high number of minority applicants being rejected for employment due to minor infractions to major crimes. The Preachers and Reverends pushed Daley to have an appeal process for these minority rejected applicants.

This process was suppose to help applicants who had some minor past history during their growing years. There are some kids who do end up doing some stupid things due to the neighborhood they live in. Some kids are even "forced" in one way or another to be in a gang just to make it through their own neighborhood and their own block.

But like the old saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Aldermen and other politically connected people used this board to push through some of the worse possible candidates. From relatives who were hard core gang members to pieces of shit who were working for their wards.

Remember we just had a female Aldermen convicted for her illegal activities, who's lover was a high ranking gang member. So God only knows who she used her juice for.

But once again it just reflects the true juice and power these bullshit members of the cloth have with this Mayor. Mayor Daley would bend over and kiss the ass of these storefront preachers before he would ever give a dollar for a benefit for a sick copper.

I personally received a phone call in regards to an arrest I made on a subject who later applied for the police dept. The female arrestee slammed the door on my arm while I was chasing a guy who just did a shooting and ran into the residence she was in. Needless to say, after fighting and arresting her, my partner and I found the shooter hiding in the basement of the house, along with the weapon. She didn't live there but was visiting the offender who did live there. The offender was her baby’s daddy.

The background investigator told me based on my information, he was going to block her employment to the CPD. A few weeks later I received another call from that investigator, he informed me that two exempt members as well as one Alderman had written letters supporting this candidate to be hired. This is what this department is hiring now. A female who is the baby's momma of a gang member who is now convicted and serving time for the shooting.

You are getting the department they want.

9/09/2008 01:27:00 AM"

"The Real Reason Why The Chicago Public Schools Had A 93.7% Attendance For The 1st Day Of School

Chicago Public Schools chief Arne Duncan and Board of Education President Rufus Williams said Tuesday's (2008) attendance clocked in at 93.7 percent, up from last year's previous high of 93 percent.

In 2000, only 76 percent of students showed up the first day, an eight-year low.

________________________
You want to know why the CPS 1st day of school attendance went up from 76% in 2000 and now to 93.17% in 2008?

Sounds pretty incredible that the Chicago Public School system can raise the 1st day of school attendance so much in just a few years.

Well here is their little secret.

A policy that wasn't in place in 2000 but is now.

Any student who did not show up for the 1st day of school was un-enrolled in the school system.

The only students that were marked absent are students where the parent actually called the school informing them of a bona fide reason for the student to absent, i.e. illness, dental or medical appointments.

The CPS will only re-enroll these students if and when they finally show up.

It is a perfect plan to inflate the 1st day of school attendance percentage.

Mayor Daley, not knowing how many students were going to participate in Rev. Meeks' school boycott was hedging his bet to insure a great 1st day of school attendance number and to minimize the importance of Rev. Meeks' boycott.

9/09/2008 01:56:00 AM"

"If the public knew the truth about Daley and J-Fed, they'd run them out of town on rail.

Both just talk bullshit and are proven liars.

Don't believe a word they say.

Unless you are a clout suckhole, they would throw you under the bus despite a great work record. I don't believe they know how much we hate their guts.

They are filthy whores that deserve each other.

9/09/2008 01:30:00 AM"

So, Ben and Mick, how about shining some Chicago Reader light on these very real travesties perpetrated by our own shortshanked mayor?

<![CDATA[there was a perfect storm brewing along the shores of lake michigan:
* envision seeking to exit the chicago healthcare market
* medline jockeying for a handsome return on its investment for the reese property
* envision investing minimally in the reese healthcare enterprises, some of which fairly best practice for health promotion and access to various cultural communities
* perceived poor reimbursement from springfield for patients using public aid and other health entitlement programs
* reese administration stringing along its employees for months, with whispers about possible mergers with other hospitals being allowed to root and not be publicly disputed - before the closure news emerged in june 2008
* perceived bad blood between the reese culture, and that of its sister institutions - particularly those who credential professionals with clout at city hall

the rehabilitation program had a garden for patient use; with the campus going fallow, someone else could make good use of a community garden - couldn't they? please please please let me know....

<![CDATA[Since daley has proven to be more than willing to impose the powers of emminant domain upon areas outside the boundaries of this city, why hasn't he used these powers to compel the sale of this property, located solely within the boundaries of this city, to the city for a fair market price? A price which would likely be significantly less than that which has been tentatively agreed upon?

If the purchase of this property meets the criteria necessary to impose emminant domain, why wouldn't daley use it to acquire this property for it's fair market value?

Was this property for sale, ie., on the market, prior to the city expressing interest in purchasing it? And, if so, what, if any, offers were being made for it, said offers being an indication of it's true and current market value?

Would the present owners of this property be offering it for sale, were the city not interested in purchasing it?

Why does it seem as if this desire for the 2016 Olympics is based primarily on a desire to dislocate a substantial portion of those residing on this city's south and west sides, via economic forces?

Why is hosting the 2016 Olympics being portrayed as a benefit to this city's residents, rather than the huge economic deficit it is doomed to become?

Why is daley lying to the citizens of this city?

<![CDATA[What are the connections, if any, between Tony Rezko and Jeremiah Wright?
2. Where are the cell phone records of all the people who attended the reception for Nadhmi Auchi at the Rezko home in 2004? Which of those people had significant phone contact with Obama's staff?
3. How did Auchi get into and out of the US in 2004 after being convicted in France in 2003?
4. Why hasn't Rita Rezko been indicted as a co-conspirator with her husband, since she agreed to a deliberate attempt to evade creditors with the 2005 land deal with Obama?
5. Did Orlando Jones really commit suicide in Sept. 2007?
6. Who threated Ata in April 2008, and who was that person sent by? If Patrick Fitzgerald knows the answer to this question, what is he planning to do with it?

Change. Think about. Daley and the hustlers around him will give us no peace. At least a soil study was done on the Micheal Reese property, unlike Bridgeport Village.
