<![CDATA[A couple of days ago here's what Munoz said on Channel 5:

Alderman Ricardo Munoz was outspoken following April's federal raid, saying, "You have all these drug dealers, all these people selling illegal documents. These people should be arrested, but to come into a neighborhood armed in such a fashion is overkill."

    On Channel 7 he said:
"I'm disappointed instead of going after the drug dealers and the thugs they are picking on a small businesses, who happens to be my dad, but if he wasn't my dad, I would say the same thing," said Ald. Ricardo Munoz, 22nd Ward.

Alderman Munoz says he and his father are not close. Since divorcing his mother 17 years ago, the alderman says he only talks with his father twice a year.

Question: When he rallied in front of the raid at the photo studio, was that his first visit or second visit of the year?

No class disowning his dad for political gain.

His dad did everything for him.

<![CDATA[I believe Rick Munoz is the best Congressional candidate out there. He has 14 yeard of proven progressive leadership in City council so you know where he stands compared to any other candidates like Manny, who has only had 4 years in city council and from his track record looks like he would sell out his constituents if elected to Congress and is just looking for the higher pay and prestige. What major issues has he brought forth in City Council the 4 years as alderman. Not too mention he's one of the Mayor's lil bitch in city council and contridicts his vote if the issue is too sensitive in council, such as the big box issue, which ponders the question would he ever take on important issues if elected to Congress? Maldonado just kisses Strogers ass every chance he gets to look good and shows no political independence, so why would he make a good Congressman if that's the case? Danny Solis, what can I say about the guy other than the fact he is the Mayor's right nut! No political independence and only cares about himself. He would sell out in a heartbeat should he ever be elected!

<![CDATA[Maldonado is an interesting choice. About once a year he gets up off his knees and removes his lips from (a)Stoger's ass, and shows a bit of independence. He finds himself on his knees and with his lips planted on the Board President's butt because of jobs. He's going to turn off good govenment types because of his love for county patronage jobs. The jobs could well prove to be a double edged sword politically. It might him with some precinct work, but turn off the do gooders.

<![CDATA[Maybe you should watch Frank Avila in court or read his work.
He has won a lot of cases including to the Supreme Court for Manny Flores.
He is a Marine Reserve Captain who has won awards.
Major judgments, settlements and awards in Federal court.

His "partner" Pat--if you are speaking of Pat McDonough won his job back with Frank Avila as have dozens of city, state, and county workers all who sing his praise.
Nobody thought Avila would win the McDonough case.

Avila is a great attorney, with many solid wins. Better for politics he is honest and independent more than any politically active lawyer I have ever met.

If he is such a bad lawyer why does he have so many clients? Have you ever been to one of his parties? I have.
I don't think he needs a job at the Water Reclamation, he seems different than most political sons as he has an education and can get a job on his own.

I hope he runs for office as he would be great. But politics is a whores game.

<![CDATA[I would guess that Frank's got better things to do than seek the votes of people who don't place much value on an honest man, as evidenced by the long series of manipulating liars that have been routinely elected and reelected in the wards within the 4th district.

These 'folks' and 'people' feel right at home in Chicago style politics, it's what they know all too well and seem to approve of.

<![CDATA[You do understand that, even though there IS some positive effect in exposing and condemning specific 'shitheads', for their egregiously blatant, self-serving and criminally dishonest wheeling and dealing, the result of this type of political 'campaigning' is, for the most part, merely to allow another 'shithead' to exploit the negative feelings of constituents towards the incumbent 'shithead', with the only goal being to gain the office, and the opportunity, to do exactly what the former incumbent was doing.

'Actual thinking' is what these rascals do, 24/7/52, thinking about how to gain political, and thus economic, power, thinking about how to make the most of these powers, (without getting indicted), and thinking about how to APPEAR to be not at all who and what they are, so as to KEEP these powers, by being re-elected.

    Sounds obvious, doesn't it?

Also obvious is that the more doors you knock on, the more cold-calls you make, the more mass mailing you send out, etc., all of it doesn't mean shit, if what you're saying isn't supported by a foundation of honesty, truth, thoughtful deliberation, common sense and a healthy dose of humility and humanity.

Why do you think there are so few 'good guys', prevailing or otherwise, involved in politics?

Why do you present the 'kicking up little puffs of dust' as remotely inspiring honest people to "....actually go work on political campaigns."?

    Whose political campaigns?

    The "rare occasion good guys"?

Maybe I'm grossly underestimating the intelligence of the vast number of potential voters, or maybe you're grossly underestimating same, but depending upon negative, mudslinging to generate votes for a challenger is not only distasteful, but relatively ineffective, especially on a local level.

The recent victories of independent challengers is more a result of their positive campaigning, albeit still containing negative, but verifiable, accusations against the incumbents, than of mindless, thoughtless mudslinging.

Give the voters credit for having brains, (all apparent, historical evidence to the contrary), especially the many potential voters who have chosen not to participate in elections, (for some also obvious, though short-sighted, reasons), and you might find that, by encouraging civil, intelligent, thoughtful discourse, more people WILL participate, in a more intelligent and effective manner, than those few who 'get involved' due to being 'inspired' by the type of trash-talking being posted on this comment board.

We, the voters, have to think, if only because the 'shitheads' are always thinking.

We, the voters, cannot continue to allow ourselves to be played into not thinking, pandered to with sweet-talk lies, incited to condemn one 'shithead' and react by embracing another 'shithead', etc., if we want to ever have a chance to clean out all the 'shitheads' and begin to enjoy anything close to a free and honest society and government.

If you choose to keep on playing the game of politics by the rules written by these 'shitheads', don't cry when you bring home the stench of shit on your mind, body and spirit.

<![CDATA[Some of us work on political campaigns doing precinct work, knocking on doors, phone banking etc. "Actual thinking" alone, sitting on your ass isn't going to drive the "shitheads" out of office. The "kicking up little puffs of dust" on the various blogs has inspired some to actually go work on political campaigns. On on rare occasion good guys prevail, usually its just a change of "shitheads".

<![CDATA[So, let's all keep focusing on the shitheads in office, gossiping like a yard full of chickens and roosters, kicking up little puffs of dust, while these assholes keep picking our pockets, running their scams, prancing around like their shit don't stink, yeah, that's what we should all keep doing.
