Vote for Change

Think about how much the voters could accomplish by voting in the Democratic Primary, applying the HAVE NO DOUBT, VOTE INCUMBENTS OUT voting formula, (see below), and using their votes to deny renomination, (as the Democratic candidates in the General Election), to the Incumbent Democrats.

Think about how less difficult it would be for Challenger candidates to defeat their Democratic opponents, were those Democratic opponents, in whatever contest, (be it city or county), NOT Incumbents.

Think about how the Democratic Party's reputation for invincibility, in this city and county, would be shattered, were few to none of their Incumbent officeholders to win renomination in their own Primary.

Think about the immense amount of money the Democrats would then have to spend, to garner anywhere near the name recognition for the non-Incumbent Democratic candidates they would be stuck with running in the General Election.

After considering the HAVE NO DOUBT, VOTE INCUMBENTS OUT voting strategy, think about the nature of those individuals who would be the Democratic candidates in the General Election, and the likelihood of few, if any, being authentic shills for the democratic Party.

Think about the inevitable debates that would arise, either publicly broadcast or privately engaged in amongst citizens and the politically active alike, all beginning with the question, "What the hell happened in the Democratic Primary? A shitload of Incumbents were rejected by the Democratic voters, and the Democratic Party of Cook County can't explain why!"

We are at a crossroads here, certainly in this city and this county, let alone this state and this country, and zombie-like party loyalty is what has brought us to this point; political party loyalty isn't going to produce anything but more of the same.

If there ever was a time to 'think outside the box' it's now.

For your, and every citizen/voter's, consideration:

    VOTE IN EVERY ELECTION

In the Primary Election, cast your votes with the goal of ousting as many Incumbents as possible, by applying this formula:

If the Incumbent has only a single Challenger, VOTE FOR THAT CHALLENGER.

If the Incumbent has 2 or more Challengers, cast your vote according to the Ballot Position of the candidates listed, to wit:

If the Incumbent's name is listed FIRST, then vote FOR the Challenger candidate whose name is listed LAST.

    OR

If the Incumbent's name is NOT listed first, then vote FOR the Challenger candidate's name that IS LISTED FIRST.

Applying this strategy will concentrate the most votes for a single, random, unpredictably selected Challenger, thus having the potential of overcoming even the most egregious vote fraud the Democrats are capable of engaging in, should enough citizens choose to restore the power of their votes to our elections and, thus, to our governance.

In addition, whenever you, the voter, have the chance to oust an elected Incumbent by voting to NOT RETAIN, do so.

    Encourage all citizens to:

    VOTE IN EVERY ELECTION

    and to

HAVE NO DOUBT, VOTE INCUMBENTS OUT

If Change is what is truly wanted, applying this strategy will effect change, big time.

    Think about it.

    Chicago Tribune
    Dumb and destructive
Should police have the power to force drivers to take a blood test for DUI? Read Wednesday's Tribune editorial.

There’s really no off season for DUI. Pick any night, and there will be drunk drivers on the road.

This time of year, some of them will be teens, fresh from graduation parties where alcohol is served—sometimes when the parents aren’t watching and sometimes when they are.
Some will be adults who’ve already been convicted of DUI and are still endangering themselves and other drivers.

Yes, it’s incredibly dumb and destructive. But they’ll figure they won’t get caught. Or if they do, they’ll find a way to escape punishment.

But here’s the reality. The laws are stronger than ever. The cops are finding new ways to catch drunk drivers. And the penalties are stiff. That goes not just for the driver, but for those who may have a role in providing alcohol.

So before you drink and drive—or look the other way at a graduation party—consider:

 Under a new Illinois law, parents who knowingly permit underage drinking in their homes can face up to three years in prison and a fine of $25,000. That’s a response to the case of Jeffrey and Sara Hutsell, the parents who were convicted of endangering a child and other charges after they opened their Deerfield home for a teen drinking party in 2006. In the aftermath, two teens died in a car crash near the Hutsells’ home. The driver’s blood-alcohol limit was nearly twice the legal limit.

 If you refuse a Breathalyzer test, figuring it’ll be harder for prosecutors to convict you, the police have authority to draw blood to test your blood-alcohol level. Kane County authorities used that threat recently on what they called a “no-refusal weekend.” It was aimed at repeat offenders who exploit a loophole in Illinois law. Refusing to blow into the Breathalyzer brings an automatic three-year license suspension for a driver who has a prior DUI (or six months if you have no prior conviction). But that’s not as steep as a second DUI conviction, which brings a five year-license revocation.

Of the 14 DUI suspects arrested in Kane County over the Memorial Day weekend, eight drivers refused to take the breath test. They were threatened or served with a warrant that required them to provide either a blood or breath sample. In the end, none was physically forced to give blood, said Kane County State’s Atty. John Barsanti, because “there could be a fight and you’ve got people with needles.”

But the threat worked: Eventually, only one suspect refused to provide either a blood or breath sample. He will likely face contempt charges, prosecutors said.

Barsanti called the weekend “wildly successful” and vowed to do more of them. “We got seven samples we never would have gotten,” he said. Six of the seven drivers were over the legal limit, he said. The seventh case is pending results of a blood test.

We know that all the laws and checkpoints in the world won’t stop some people from drinking and driving. They’re convinced that they can slide by. Too many of them are, tragically, wrong.

This is a time of year for celebrations. Graduation. New jobs. A time to savor summer after a long winter. Don’t make it a season for premature funerals.

      quaters,

Your wrong . All the hired truck scandal did was move the trucks to MWRD and the County. What it did accomplish was guys like me ,making $10.00 a hour ,to lose our jobs. The real scandal is US Attoney Fitzgerald leaves Mayor Daley alone to steal millions and how double standards are a pratice in this City . Like Chicago Police Sargent Gerald Breimon(Jan Pestka's son) fondles a young woman and because he has clout , he will be promoted soon! Or Judge Sheila Kilroe McGinnis arrested for drunk driving, refuses a breathalyzer, she too will be back as a Judge or the Ultimate insult on our justice system, Patrick Daley(son of da mayor) , the Army hero that never saw action while others die! He stole from the taxpayers, millions of $, by using a front company MSS. Whistleblowers like Pat McDonough are used to deflect all the attention away from the Daley people and onto the working class. Just look at his background: Lives in DesPlaines(City Workers must live in Chicago), Had a DUI he did not report to the Inspector General, and broke laws in DesPlaines...Yet he still is on the City pay roll! WHY? His clout is retired Cook County States Attorney Dick Devine! So this City is wired top to bottom, with the little guy getting screwed by the day!

other aspects of life -- both domestic and foreign -- as perceived from Chicago.

We won’t see “Exposing Daley” soon
    Tuesday, May 13, 2008

WBBM-TV seems to have found a new franchise – “Exposing Xxxx Xxxxxxxx.”

It was a few months ago (Nov. 29, 2007, to be exact) that the CBS-owned television station in Chicago aired “Exposing Rod Blagojevich,” a nearly 8-minute report (or about one-third of the total newscast) that detailed just how unpopular Gov. Rod Blagojevich has become.

MONDAY NIGHT, WE viewers of WBBM got to see political reporter Mike Flannery (with help from producer Ed Marshall – a long-time Chicago broadcaster who did a brief stint as former Illinois Comptroller Loleta Didrickson’s press secretary) do another similar report. This time, it was “Exposing Todd Stroger” – a 6-minute report that told us just how unpopular Cook County President Todd Stroger has become.

There wasn’t anything terribly new – or at least nothing that those of us who pay attention to the Chicago Sun-Times didn’t already know. Todd has several relatives and friends in mid- to high-ranking positions on the Cook County government payroll, all of who receive salaries of at least $100,000.

About the most interesting tidbit I got out of the WBBM report was that Stroger works out of a fancy office with an incredible view of Lake Michigan – just like a lot of other people who work in downtown Chicago.

THE LOGICAL NEXT step would be “Exposing Daley.” If one is going to go after the governor and the county board president, then “getting” the mayor of Chicago would be the natural completion to the trio of political powerhouses.

Somehow, I doubt there will be any such report.

Getting people to take pot shots at Blagojevich and Stroger is ridiculously easy. In fact, the trick for a reporter-type is to figure out which critics actually know what they’re talking about – and which are just sore losers.

TAKING SHOTS AT Daley is a different matter – Hizzoner Jr. has the ability to crush anybody who tries to speak out against him, which will inhibit the number of people willing to go on camera and talk political trash. WBBM would literally have to resort to putting Daley critics in the shadows and distorting their voices to even consider getting them to talk.

In short, it isn’t going to happen.

We have a better chance of seeing “Exposing Madigan” (take your pick, Mike or Lisa) or “Exposing Obama” before we see anyone go after the Man on
