impose on all Cook County taxpayers!
A $4.00 per phone line per month tax on ALL phone lines including

something different

      Here's something different:

HAVE NO DOUBT, VOTE INCUMBENTS OUT

Here is how to get it done:

    1) REGISTER TO VOTE

    2) Make a list of every INCUMBENT, (leaving those few incumbents who you are CERTAIN deserve to be reelected off of your list)

    3) BRING this list with you when you go to vote

    4) DO NOT vote for ANYONE on your list

    5) If the INCUMBENT has only one CHALLENGER, vote for that CHALLENGER, no matter who it may be

    6) If the INCUMBENT has 2 or more challengers, then:

If the INCUMBENT'S name is listed 1st, then vote for the CHALLENGER who is LISTED LAST

    or

If the INCUMBENT'S name is NOT LISTED FIRST, then vote for the CHALLENGER who IS LISTED FIRST

(This will concentrate the most votes for a SINGLE CHALLENGER, thus providing the greatest possibility of the incumbent losing

    7) whenever you have the choice to RETAIN or NOT RETAIN an elected official, vote to NOT RETAIN

    8) Vote for whomever you choose, for whatever your reasons, it's your vote and you can cast it for whomever you please, but, please remember, the INCUMBENTS are the people who have been, are, and will continue to be, the one's responsible for all of our current troubles

Cast your votes with the sole purpose in mind of ousting practically all those currently holding, and abusing, the power and authority they've been entrusted with.

    This is something different.

    Try it, you'll like it.

We should thank Mayor Daley for having the integrity to put his property tax hike, liquor tax hike, bottled water tax hike, and water & sewer fee hikes, in WRITING, ON THE BUDGET.

At least he is being more honest than he usually is, like with his 150-some tax increment financing districts, which raise property taxes throughout Cook County, and his 40-some special service areas, which raise property taxes in Chicago neighborhoods, which are all OFF BUDGET.

Great work, Hugh, illuminating and depressing in equal measure to see precisely where our ever increasing taxes go...

$65k a year for someone to read water meters?

$65K a year for an "asphalt helper"? What the fuck?

$75k a year for a guy to repair street lights?

No wonder the city's hundreds of millions in the hole when lazyass morons are getting way above real world wages. Not to mention handsome benefits and pension packages.

It's a fucking scandal, that's what it is.

Thank You, Better Government Association of Chicago!

Their new online database of City & County employees is a VERY IMPORTANT TOOL. For one, citizens will be able to look up the goons that hang around polling places on election day.

Please send them a note and thank them and encourage them to keep it current.

    Suggestion: add Park District

Daley's frothing about libraries (funny, he never mentioned this urgent and dire need for libraries until last week) and I just heard him on WGN sayig he understands the working people of Chicago and that tough decisions have to be made.

Yeah, tough decisions for the regular unconnected joes who are getting stiffed left, right and centre and then shat on from above.

Not so tough for the Bridgeport Boys who will carry on cheating and stealing their way through the trough.

Is Patrick Fitzgerald still sniffing around City Hall? Let's hope so.

End the corruption, save the City.

I mostly find aggravating this idea that Daley hasn't raised property taxes before and this will be the first time. Homeowners could care less about Daley's tax mumbo-jumbo voodoo economics, property taxes have always gone up in 3 year cycles, just because its due to the assessment going doesn't change the amount on that bill.
