<![CDATA["And I just find it a bit upsetting and kind of insulting that I can't have any ideas on my own because I'm a female or that people from undeveloped countries can't have ideas of their own unless it's backed up by someone who's blond-haired and blue-eyed."

take heart maya, at least identity-politics bullshit and RACISM cross all boundaries ... even if you're a female, undeveloped-country-bred RACIST.

<![CDATA[I love M.I.A. I was listening to Adam and the Ants the other day - Kings of the Wild Frontier to be exact - and it kind of reminded me of it in the way that it was exciting music made my conceptual artists and the presentation was really inspiring and killer. What I'm trying to say is, I love M.I.A. and I love Adam and the Ants.

<![CDATA[i can't fathom why anyone gives M.I.A props at all. seriously. there is no evidence of greatness on any record. vastly overrated, overpraised and overhyped. exoticism at its most ridiculous & shameful level. its rehashed hip-hop to my ears. just because she's sampling shenai's and other "global" sounds & rhythms doesn't make it innovative or interesting to me. and her utterance of revolution and other empty, vague slogans makes her come off as nothing more than a poseur.
