<![CDATA[How amusing to come across this list so long after I was canned by the worthless and now bankrupt Tribune. I would like to add that Bob Pauk, my coworker on the horrible overnight shift in the Reference Dept. (library) was "laid off" the same day I was. My supervisors were despicable. Glad to be out. I feel sorrier for those who are still there. I now no longer have migraines after 10 years. Sam Zell, Go to Hell!

<![CDATA[I am glad to hear that the great Paul Salopek remains on board at the Trib, but the departure of Steve Franklin is such a loss. After moving from Chicago, I've kept a google alert on his name so as not to miss his stories. I wonder if there are now any dedicated labor reporters left at any newspaper in the country. Sad.

<![CDATA[Sad to see all these talented people pushed out the door. And, congrats to Evan Osnos landing at The New Yorker. But here's a pointed question: Why aren't young Latino or black reporters getting his kind of fast-tracking at American newspapers -- and then a chance to make these kind of moves to places like The New Yorker? Guess it helps to be a white male with a well-connected daddy.
