Re: “Absolutely the ten best south-side tacos (or confessions of a food-list maker)

I think there can be tons of lists of Chicago's best taco, and you won't find one bad taco, so we can just agree Chicago as a whole, has some of the best tacos in the country. It's also fair to point out that yes, the Southside has been overlooked, and a north-side bias is real-I can't believe I've never seen Atotonilco's Al Pastor taco on ANY list.

Re: “Who's Mayor Emanuel meeting with in secret?

Bruman, if these meetings are good things, why not disclose who the parties are? B) Guess what, sometimes staffers bullshit, hence, "might bring jobs". Mention some real projects.

Re: “Rahm's first commercial turns a community victory into a personal victory

So her (Wasserman's) feelings about the whole story don't jive at all with her decision to be in the commercial-She's saying it wasn't him 'til the end-it was us-then why did she do the commercial ? It's a slap in the face to her community, and the coalition. If she feels he deserved some credit, that's fine, but why did it have to be her to do it?

Re: “Mayor Rahm's school board takes a big stand!

Decisive, bold action is great, Bruman if that's all you care about, but not when the actions are misguided and lack complete logic.
Tell me, what kind of evaluation of teachers have you conducted that you can call them all inept. oh wait i guess the failure of the public school system is entirely they're fault.
How come no one ever blames cops when crime goes up?
How come no one ever blames the soldiers when a war is going bad?
Oh I know, maybe cuz it makes no goddamn sense.

Re: “Mayor Rahm's Chicago—in black and white

Dear Original IAC: The fact that the the majority of the "low income", lower class folks you're referring to are Black is just coincidence I guess.

Re: “Chicago's black voters wake up with a Mayor Rahm hangover

Black voters, like the majority of voters in America vote for whoever has the money to get their message out, and to buy off that particular voting bloc's leadership which in this case is Black Alderman and Black Ministers. In this last election that was clearly Rahm. That's it, nothing special happened here. Just like in Cicero, Dominic had the army, money, and resources to basically buy the Latino vote, even though his opponent was a legit Latino candidate in a town that is 80% Latino. Almost all the Latino elected officials except for 2 were backing Dominic. Good ol' politics can easily trump race.
