There's a flip side to this too, in that female vocal groups that were costumed and controlled by producers and managers are generally revered (the Ronettes, the Supremes, and the greatest of them all, the Shirelles) while their male counterparts (News Kids on the Block, *NSYNC, Jonas Brothers) are generally reviled.

Your point is well taken. I think the bigger quality issue, however, is screen freeze-ups, which I've witnessed at least once, at Showplace ICON. Then there's the threat of independent second-run houses like the Patio getting sucked down the drain by the cost of conversion.

Maurice: Your point is well taken, but Ryan was not an officer and he never saw action. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton as a drill instructor and honorably discharged as a private first class.
