Such a funny read, thank you. I have always thought of real mince pie in the family of all the great meat pies, such as tortiere (?) of French and Canadian tradition. Of course the spices and sweetness with meat remind me of the traditional foods of Sicily and what I've read about food in Europe during the middle ages. I imagine the idea of killing a cow for its meat must have been daunting, after all, what exactly were you supposed to do with all that meat before refrigerators? I look forward to reading more from you.
