Re: “SoundCloud Raining on Its Own Parade

Sad but True. Universal Music Group ordered my entire catalog of DJ sets, remixes and edits to be removed from Soundcloud. This practice became very apparent when Britney Spears dropped "Hold It Against Me" and her acapella leaked. Every remixer reported the song being taken down with 5-10 minutes of uploading. I find this practice ironic in many ways. The labels need to clearly understand that the DJ's and remixers are the ones keeping the artists careers alive. A remix gives an otherwise "blah blah blah" track longevity and a new lease on life. I always say this joke to my friends who have had material taken down from Soundcloud: "Remember when Soundcloud was underground and you needed a map point to find it?" LOL The labels and Soundcloud are driving the music and DJ culture to opt for more illegal routes.
