Saw this article in print form when it was published and just stumbled upon it while looking for some of Zavala's music. Thanks for giving him the love and exposure. He is one of the most gifted composers and beatmakers making music today (in my humble opinion) and combines beautiful, diverse layers of sounds and samples.

Great list. Thank you. Vegetarian since '95 and vegan since 2000, I'm familiar with quite a few, but you just hipped me to some new ones! Thanks. Earwax in Wicker Park and Pick Me Up in Wrigleyville are the only places missing from this list. ;) (And maybe Sultan's Market or any of the many awesome, Chicago restaurants serving mediterranean/Middle-Eastern-cuisine...but I guess they're not organic and all serve meat.) I had no idea about this show...and, strangely--although I don't think he's an amazing rapper, I actually think I would've gone just to see what he does live, based on the craziness and fun he always seems to have with his songs.
