Best tamales I've ever had, by a country mile.
This is a homely place, with a lot of what you might call "character" if you don't head in with any expectations: high dark booths, not much decor to speak of, MacGyvered fixtures in the bathroom, et cetera. In the front window I remember seeing a tabletop light ball (the kind you might use at a karaoke party), a dusty old tower PC, and a snowblower.
The other patrons were all men, apparently Somali, and judging from the cars outside at least a few were cabdrivers. The food was mostly in metal cafeteria-style chafing trays in the back, since long cooking times make preparing most of the dishes to order impractical.
The stewed goat I had was pretty good for the price--not a revelation or anything, but not bony and tough either. I enjoyed the spiced rice and the portions were alarmingly generous. (As in I had to walk my bike home.)
Two words of warning: Though the owners are very willing to help newbies, the language barrier can make it tough to figure out what's available. Also the bright green salad dressing is spicy enough that folks of more sensitive constitutions will turn beet red upon eating it.
Looks like the coroner is saying Jeff Hanneman died of alcohol-related cirrhosis. I can't imagine that the gnarly antibiotics used to treat necrotizing fasciitis are great for your liver, but they apparently weren't the biggest problem here.
Dear DATES R WRONG!, did you notice this is a post from 2012?

I'm now in a position to confirm the hunches of many Dark Lord Day fans: Three Floyds did in fact team up with an events company this year. It's called the Running Waters Group, which I know because Amy Murray from the company dropped me a line after reading this review. "Hands down one of the most professional, nicest clients I've worked with," she wrote. "The team and all the employees really treat each other well and love what they do. From our side we had a blast too with the exception of not being able to cut down the lines as much as we wanted."
Sean, I witnessed a similar problem in the Group D line, except with Group E people lining up too early. The sales groups are a good idea, but to a degree they still depend on the honor system, and as I'm sure you know not everybody acts honorably where long lines are involved.
Driftwood, I am officially envious that I didn't yet know about Dark Lord Day back when it was as relaxed as what you're describing!
To be clear, it doesn't count as a vote if you just comment here! There's a "best tattoo shop" category on the Reader's Best of Chicago ballot, though, which is linked in the post above.
I guess this means Spotify doesn't have Bolt Thrower's "Anti-Tank (Dead Armour)" or the Green Arrows' "No Delay." But for the record, those were my picks this time!
