Great neighborhood standby. Food is good and plenty of it. Nothing too unusual sushi-wise, but is that really what you want? This is a very reliable, cheerful, quick with food to go place. They have beer and sake too, are busy at the usual times, but you never have to wait too long.
Wow. Hadn't been here in years, and wandered in on a wet Memorial Day afternoon for lunch. It hasn't worn well at all, everything is run-down and tatty, although perhaps the light pink paint job the outside was being given that day is a sign of improvements to come.
On the whole, the food was mediocre and overpriced. Charging an extra 50 cents for a pita after you've paid $6.75 for a gyros "plate" is pretty cheesy. After asking for as little oil as possible to be used in cooking mixed vegetables, they were still very greasy. The garlic potatos were the best thing we had, tasty, and light blue, to boot.
I'll check back in another 10 years, but probably no sooner!
" that begins a weeklong run on Friday at Gene Siskel Film Center. " ???

Amen. For once the correct - 'happy' would hardly be appropriate - ending. Thank you, John! - Mary Davis
