Pleasant, uncrowded setting; nicely prepared, creative food; waitress seemed like a pleasant person, but took a while getting little things like water; couldn't tell if she was overburdened or just forgetful - didn't reflect well.
My parents are tremendous food snobs and have no qualms about sending orders back and criticizing waitstaff. They LOVED Cafe Winberie and are looking forward to going back. Aside from the slow waitress -it was late in the day and there was no rush, so she should have been very attentive- they had no complaints. The food is interesting and well-prepared. The setting is beautiful without being overly formal. The prices are reasonable and reflect the quality of the food. In the past, I've eaten their $16-all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch and find all the same to be true. It's a great place for out of towners and late dinners and "occasion" eating. I recommend it highly.
