I'm really upset with myself for not trying this place sooner. Before our meal was over, we were already planning future visits. My rainbow trout with brown sugar pecan butter was easily one of the best seafood entrees I've had in a long time, if not ever. The space is cramped, though - I saw a server accidentally spill food on a patron's back. We made a reservation and still had a good 10 minute wait because our table wasn't ready. Apparently the recent feature on "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" has boosted its popularity, but it's warranted.
I have yet to have a bad experience here. There have been a few instances of entrees not meeting expectations, though. My friend ordered the risotto special of the night. What arrived appeared to be a plate of long-grain rice with sliced chicken on top. The taste was fine, but definitely not risotto. That said, though, it's a nice spot in the South Loop, it's BYOB, and it's affordable. I'll definitely be back.

The steaks were awesome. The appetizers, not so much. My husband is a huge lobster bisque fan, but didn't like the chunks of apple that dotted his bowl. He did like the lobster spring roll, though. Stay way from the surf & turf dumplings -- the consistency is all wrong. We liked the shrimp & sausage grits as a side, but it's barely enough to share. Did I mention that the steaks were awesome?
