I have had the pleasure of dining at Frontera Grill several times and have really enjoyed myself until my most recent visit. When faced with three out of town friends coming in for the night on short notice, I knew Frontera would be a good choice. They don't take reservations. We put our name in and waited two hours. Fine. I knew it would be a long wait.
I was suprised to find that all of the food we ordered was just OK. Really nothing outstanding or special. Even my $26 Ribeye Steak was just so-so. Served alongside dried out beans and roasted Plantains, it was just nothing exciting. Most disappointing was the Men's bathroom! It was filthy, out of hand paper and soap, and littered with an overflowing garbage can. Totally unacceptable.
Although Frontera is fine, it is my opinion that one could get a much more enjoyable authentic Mexican dinner at Salpicon!
I said fine twice.
Mertz Apothecary has a fine selection of fine flavored toothpicks!
