Secret History of Chicago Zines

Thu 4/19, 7 PM

The Secret History of Chicago Zines, a panel discussion featuring Steve Krakow, Jake Austen, and Chris Ware, is part of an informal celebration of the ten-year anniversary of the Secret History of Chicago Music (written by Krakow and published in the pages of the Reader). The local-lit luminaries dive into the untold history of DIY music zines and their influence on local music. A complementary show on Monday at the Empty Bottle (1035 N. Western) features Ono, Bill Vermette, and Krakow's own Plastic Crimewave Sound.
