The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences aims this production at its core constituency, softening miserly Ebenezer Scrooge with comedic quirks and putting tap shoes on the spirits of Christmases Past, Present, and Future. True to his Disney roots, composer Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Enchanted) creates vivid musical numbers for Dickens's timeless story, in which the spirits scare Scrooge into a life of good deeds and Christmas cheer.
