Comprising 14 short plays punctuated by live musical interludes, this "theatrical mixtape" from The Ruckus Theater teeters between light interpretations and heady, ambitious pronouncements as it examines our quirky connections to the songs and lyrics that move us. Well-placed humor--a George Washington who loves Sir Mix-a-Lot-sized booty, an oversexed Joni Mitchell on a quest for immortality--sits alongside some tedious head-scratchers. Though acted superbly and married elegantly to its guitar accompaniment, the show provides little that's easy to relate to. Some tightening of vague language and fuzzy plotlines is in order. --Marissa Oberlander
