Lifeline Theatre's KidSeries returns to the fertile ground of Doreen Cronin's books about precocious farm animals looking to outwit Farmer Brown and have awfully big adventures. In this fourth installment, Cow, Duck, and Pig team up with winsome Ewe (an adorable Amanda Link) to compete in the county fair talent show, judged by the acidic Simon Cowbell. First prize: a trampoline. Though not quite as interactive as some of the kids' shows I've seen at Lifeline, James E. Grote and George Howe's musical still mostly finds the sweet spot between sly wordplay (Ewe's name inevitably leads to a "Who's on First"-style interlude), physical comedy, and the modest but wise message that sometimes the biggest stars are those who make others look good. --Kerry Reid
