2014 Key Ingredient Cook-Off

Friday, May 9, 7-10 PM

Join us for the Chicago Reader's second annual chef-to-chef challenge, the Key Ingredient Cook-Off! Inspired by our biweekly Key Ingredient series, KICO will allow you to taste the creations of two dozen of Chicago's most outstanding chefs—including Dana Cree of Blackbird, Jason Hammel of Lula Cafe, Meg Galus of NoMI, and last year's winner, Abraham Conlon of Fat Rice.

All chefs will be challenged to cook with one of five intriguing ingredients featured in past Key Ingredient columns. Attendees will vote for the chefs who make the best use of their ingredient—and we'll be naming a best in show.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Common Threads.

Common Threads is a national nonprofit organization that is committed to educating underserved communities about healthy food choices through hands-on experiences. The organization empowers children and adults with fundamental cooking skills and nutritional education.
