The slums of Pottersville are Pharaonic enslavement, and Bedford Falls flows with milk, honey and justice in Patrick McCormick's theological reading of It's A Wonderful Life.

McCormick, a U.S. Catholic culture and religion columnist and Gonzaga University Christian ethics professor, plumbs the biblical implications of Frank Capra's Christmas chestnut in a screening and discussion Sunday 12/6 and Monday 12/7 at Dominican University.

"The discussion will also look at how the film and these biblical stories can offer a model of the kinds of economic and political communities we are called to build today," according to Dominican's announcement.

"It’s a Wonderful Village: Bedford Falls as the Promised Land" is Sunday 12/6 at 1 PM and Monday 12/7 at 7 PM at Dominican's Siena Center, Priory Campus Auditorium, 7200 W. Division, River Forest. $5.
