Bill Withers in Still Bill

  • Bill Withers in "Still Bill"

After a string of R&B hits like "Lean on Me" and "Ain't No Sunshine" in the early 70s, and years of troubles with his label Columbia Records, singer Bill Withers stepped away from the limelight.

Damani Baker and Alex Vlack show Withers at the top of his game and in contemporary interviews and new, intimate performances in the documentary Still Bill, screening Thursday 12/3 at Chatham 14.

Still Bill screens as part of the monthly Black World Cinema series.

It's Thursday 12/3 at 7 PM at Chatham 14, 210 W. 87th St. $5.
