Photographer Michael Lavine chronicled most of early grunge's finer bands and moments, and this coffee-table collection, edited and intro'd by Thurston Moore and currently $16.47 on Amazon, is heavy on the N-band's early years, along with contemporaries like Sonic Youth, Dino Jr., Babes in Toyland, and Pussy Galore.
It also contains a LOL-filled index from Moore and some critical shots of early Seattle street punx and toughies that you can mine for cool looks to rip off.

If you prefer not to read your grunge, there is also Nirvana's 1992 performance at the Reading Festival, available on vinyl, CD, CD/DVD, limited edition box set, and standalone DVD.
