Hats are an important yet oft-ignored part of the outerwear ensemble. If you're in the Loop today, you can address your lack of attractive winter millinery at a trunk show for Lillie & Cohoe at Florodora from noon to 6. There are 52 styles to choose from.

Also tonight, Pulitzer Prize-winning fashion critic Robin Givhan of the Washington Post speaks with journalist Victoria Lautman as part of the School of the Art Institute's "Behind the Seams" lecture series. It starts at 6 PM at the school's Fashion Resource Center.Tickets are $35 and seating is limited; call 312-629-6731 for reservations.
